Factors Influencing Knowledge Level of COVID-19 among Healthcare Workers: A Cross-sectional Survey in Four Regions of Tanzania

Up to April 24th 2020, the Government of Tanzania announced 284 cases COVID-19, among them 7 were in intensive care, 37 recoveries, 10 deaths and rest stable condition while Dar es Salaam region was leading number infected followed by Mwanza, Arusha Dodoma regions. This study conducted evaluate level COVID-19 knowledge healthcare workers selected regions order identify existing gap combating COVID-19. applied a quantitative analytical cross-sectional survey design Salaam, Arusha, Mwanza from August till 3rd October, 2022. A total 596 40 facilities involved. Frequencies percentages analyzed for categorical variables. Association between variables using Chi-square significant at P-value < 0.05. found that, have an average 79.4% correct answers with overall 70%, 24% 6% holding good, moderate low levels respectively. Multinomial logistic regression showed associations service experience 1-5 years (OR = 0.093, 95% CI, 0.011-0.759, P-value= 0.027) when good poor compared. workers.
